What We Believe

 God is Creator and Ruler of the universe.  There is one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God's only son and God in flesh.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless and perfect life, and died on the cross for the sins of mankind.  He rose from the dead to give us victory and has ascended to Heaven.  He will return one day as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Mankind is the supreme object of God's creation and made in His image, and has tremendous potential for good, but is marred by sin.  Sin separates us from a relationship with God.

The Bible is God's Word, written by human authors under divine guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is inspired by God, without error and our supreme source for truth.

Salvation is a gift from God to mankind.  Mankind can never make up for his sin through self effort.  Only by trusting Jesus can mankind be saved.  We are saved by grace through faith.

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change.  Biblical baptism takes place after conversion in the mode of immersion.  Baptism is an act of obedience and not a requirement of salvation.

Mankind will exist forever; either in Heaven or Hell.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally united with God is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are both literal places of eternal existence.

The Christian life is a life of sanctification and holiness.  The life cannot be lived in self-effort.  It can only be lived by the abiding presence and power of God's spirit.
